Another month, another developer update!

Level Design

PngNoRe has been hard at work on optimizing the map as best we can to support multiple platforms (including our own!) and has integrated functional doors throughout the entire map.

Civan has developed new trash models that can dynamically spawn on the map to be cleaned (or looted for potential contraband!)

Programming

Chris Comstock has been hard at work bugfixing and wrapping up our back-end systems (the arcane wizardry that happens behind the scenes). He's included more than 35 hair and facial hair options for the character screen, implemented the Credit (premium currency) purchasing shop, prompts for premium items, and our free customization selection.

This customization system has been designed with expansion in mind, so both the free and premium catalogue of customization options can be easily added to and altered as needed!

Asetasar, our most recent member on the team, has likewise taken up the arcane art of programming. Their wizardry has led them to develop a death indicator for the Combine so that nearby team members will be notified of a death, and further delved into the dark arts of weather-mancy. Controlling both time and weather, they've crafted reactive and dynamic weather that can be altered by admins on the fly to fit the perfect mood for certain events!

On top of all this, they've revamped our audio command system and UI, and has been delving deep into the back end Combine radio chat that will be critical to cross-map communications.

Astro is on the cusp of realizing the supply crate system which, as detailed in Developer Update IX, will be the primary way players obtain weapons on launch.

When opening a supply crate, the item is rolled from a valid pool then placed into the player's inventory immediately. The crate will then 'break' and a new crate will respawn in a new predefined hidden location. These crates have also been made team-specific, so the Combine can't steal your loot before you even get the chance to see it!

On top of all of this, the crate customization interface has been reworked and a knife added to the potential spawning pools. Now the streets of City 17 are looking a bit more like London!

General Notes

We've finalized our primary game UI, after a lot of hardship and frustration, and are now polishing and revamping the work to align better with our initial UI theme.

The first batch of animations have, likewise, begun implementation and are rolling out across the board including arrest, frisk, and detention animations for Combine and Citizens alike!

Now you, too, can turn the tables on the cops!
